Psalm 119:9
"Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word."
The Word of God makes you aware of things that easily take the attention of young people, which affects their future.
- Wrong Friendship.
- The friends you associate with in your youth will play a role in your tomorrow.
- A good friend does not introduce you to things that will take you away from your education.
- A good friend does not encourage you to engage in unholy sexual activity.
- You need to understand that the days, months, and years that you lose can never be recovered, that is why it is very important to make the right decisions in your life.
- A good friend does not encourage you to commit wicked deeds.
- Knowing God
Proverbs 1:7
"The fear of the LORD is beginning of Knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
Someone who fears God adheres to the foundation He laid down for mankind. God is a God of principle, who wants us to enjoy what He has given to us on earth.
Genesis 1:28-29"28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."We can see that the love of God is good for man. We need to obey His plan. The plan of God is for man is to obey Him.
NOTE THIS. Genesis 3:1-6"Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat."
Look at what happened here. They did not stand where God stood and they lost the blessings of God. This also made them lose their future because they were not able to live the way God ordained them to live because they follow the wrong instructions. Therefore, do not follow friends that will not build your future. It is very dangerous for your success.
Proverbs 1:8-9 "8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck."This will keep you off the track of things that will divert you from your future glory.
Psalm 144:12
"That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace."You need to understand that when your life is built in God, you will not yield yourself to things that will not allow you to have a solid life-foundation in the future. If there is problem, then you can lean on and have hope in God, who will strengthen your faith because temptations will come.
Psalm 71:5"For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth."The above Scripture shows that David knew God from his youth. He had the faith that sustained, and He was confident that because he had a relationship with God; that he would be able to overcome whatever difficulties came his way.
