Evangelism Oakland, California - July 2012

17 Jul, 2012 by Apostle O B Michael

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

We visited another area in Oakland, California and shared a message of salvation. We met four (4) homeless individuals for whom we prayed and laid hands on. We informed them of our Drug Addiction Program, which they were interested in. They told us that they hadn't eaten all day and one of them said that they needed some clothes. Apostle Michael promised to return with food and he did. He also promised to get some clothes for the person who needed it. We thank God once again for using us to help a tiny bit of the people in Oakland, California.

On July 15, 2012, we had visited the same location again, placed a table out with food and water, and Apostle Michael preached a message of salvation. After the message, we served the food and water. Apostle Michael prayed and laid hands on people and we took the names and numbers of three (3) ladies, one (1) of which is homeless, who said that they are interested in our Drug Addiction Program. The turnout was even larger than the first one, and we did not have enough food for all. We had two volunteers that day who assisted us in serving the food: a pastor, and a good friend. We thank God for the door He has opened so that the Gospel can be preached and that a little can be done for those in need.

Today, we ministered to a group of four (4) intoxicated individuals at a bus stop. Apostle Michael shared a message of salvation as well as prayed for them. They received the word with joy and shared their problems with us. I was amazed how everyone was familiar with John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life."

These people were clearly hurting people. Please join us in prayer for them. We later crossed the street to preach to people by a lakeside. They were all enthusiastic to receive the word of God.

A few minutes later, we visited a mall in Oakland. The first person we were led to was a man who appeared homeless. He was sitting on a bench in the mall and had a troubled and despondent look on his face. The Apostle asked him if he could share a word with him, but he said he was not in the mood for talk. Despite his refusal, the Apostle started to share words of comfort to him and quickly got his attention and, was able to share a very interesting passage in the Bible with him, as well as talk to him about the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. This man needs a lot of prayer. Please join us in prayer for him.

As we kept walking, we met a young lady who was sitting on a bench and filling out a form. The Apostle said that the Lord told him to pray for her because she has a burden. When asked if this were true, she said "Yes" but that she did not want to share it with us. So, the Apostle shared a message of salvation as well as some words from the Lord with her. We then prayed for her an obtained some contact information from her. Please remember this young lady in prayer She expressed that she doesn't want to be a hypocrite when she gives her life to Jesus and that she is not ready to make a commitment right now.

Today we visited the same group we visited on July 17, and we provided them with lunch. We are looking for people who will donate to this ministry and be a partner with this ministry because the resources we have to fulfill the mission is very limited.

Today, we gave a man we met on the street clothes, food, and deodorant. The Apostle spoke to him about Jesus and prayed for him. When we met him he was sleeping at his sister's at nights; but hanging out in the streets during the day and drinking. He no longer spends time on the streets. We have seen a change in him already--his face looks different, and he smells clean and looks clean now. We thank God for using this ministry to bless him in a small way and, we will continue to pray for him and help him.
